About the event

Experience a rich tapestry of vocal traditions in our upcoming concert, Lineage. This program traces the fascinating evolution of choral music, from the ancient simplicity of Gregorian chant to the robust harmonies sung by early American colonists. Explore the powerful legacy of African American vocal music, from spirituals to the innovative harmonies of modernists Zanaida Robles, Ayanna Woods, and Derrick Skye.

As a special treat, we’re thrilled to welcome guest choirs from Allendale and Northview High Schools, showcasing the next generation of vocalists. Their youthful energy will blend with our professional ensemble, creating a multi-generational celebration of choral artistry.

Join us for an evening that not only honors our musical roots but also looks to the future, demonstrating how these diverse vocal lineages continue to inspire and influence choral music today.
